How long is it Take for 8 Days Lemsoho Route Itinerary

Lemosho Route trial which approaching Uhuru Peak the actual highest point on Kilimanjaro (at 5,895 m or 19341 ft) from West side measures a distance of about 70 kilometers (42 miles). Kilimanjaro trekking on Lemosho route can start from Arusha or Moshi with a driving time of about 3 to 4 hours to Londorossi gate where you will collect all your entry permit before heading to the starting point which is Lemosho gate.

You will encounter several vegetation types during your trekking which will include the rain forest before entering into the dramatically point of Shira Plateau. You will then pass through various Ice fields before reaching the alpine desert. All these are among reasons that makes this route the most beautiful of all routes on Kilimanjaro Mountain. Apart from being the most beautiful & scenic route of all it is also experiencing less traffic than other routes, this makes your trekking much comfortable with no crowd.

Lemosho Route 8 Days Itinerary Success Rate

8 Day Lemosho Route is by far the most considered itinerary to have high success rates of about 90% compare to 7 Days Lemosho route Itinerary which has  85% success rate. This is because 8 Days itinerary give you one day of acclimatization & the trekking distance from one camp to another is less which gives trekkers enough time to rest & gather enough strength for the next day. Also our pole pole pace of one step at a time allows your body to slowly, slowly adapting to the changing altitude. (8 Days Lemosho Route Itinerary).

How to Climb: Eight-Day Lemosho route Itinerary

There is no special requirements  for climbing Kilimanjaro Mountain, only enough exercise to keep you fit before coming to Tanzania for your Kilimanjaro trekking is all that you need.

Our pole pole pace of one step at a time is the reason on why all our clients reach the summit safely & sound. Slow pace allow the body to slowly cope with changing altitude

3 liters of water a day is recommended to keep your hydrated all the time & avoid any symptoms of altitude sickness

Carry some snacks which will boost your energy & stay strong

Eight-Day Lemosho Route and 7 Days Lemosho Route Itinerary

The complete trekking on Lemosho Route is usually 7 to 8 Days with a high success rate. We don’t much recommend 6 Days trekking as it will be a rushing trekking which will not give you time to enjoy the beautiful scenery of this iconic route on Kilimanjaro Mountain. Also there will be a big chance of developing altitude sickness as your body will quickly try to adapt the changing altitude, this automatically lowers your success rate. (8 Days Lemosho Route Itinerary).

Our recommendation is the 8 Days Lemosho Route Itinerary which gives you enough time to enjoy the trekking with extra day for acclimatization which gives your body enough time to get used to the changing altitude hence increasing your success rate.

The first 2 days of the eight days Machame route itinerary will be spent on traversing the rain forest & the Shira ridge which is mostly a flat treading from the West to the Eastern part of the Mountain. After this part the trial is calm & uncrowded all the way to the junction where the trial join Machame route near Lava Tower. From here the route crosses bellow the ice-field through Southern circuit trials that goes towards Uhuru Peak from Barafu Camp to the summit. Descending after summit Kilimanjaro Mt. by using this route is via Mweka route & down to Mweka Camp.
