Detailed Itinerary: 4 Day Tanzania Safari Classic

Day 1.

Arusha – Lake Manyara National Park

On this day at 08:30 hours pick up from your hotel in Arusha & depart for Lake Manyara National Park for game drive. The driving is along Northern Highway & across Masai steppe & many villages all the way to Lake Manyara gate. After registration & all park formalities start your game drive right away.

Lake Manyara is a smallest National Park in Northern Tanzania, it is a beautiful park located at the base of the Great East African Rift Valley with lots of underground water streams that makes it green throughout the year. The parks overlapping habitats makes home to many animal species which include herds of African elephant, giraffe, buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, warthog, hippos & many more. The famous tree climbing lion & larger flocks of flamingos are among the highlights of this park. Afternoon break for lunch in one of the picnic site before embark on your sunset game drive. Late afternoon drive to Lake Manyara Serena Lodge at the edge of The Great East African Rift Valley for beautiful sunset watch, dinner & overnight.

Day 2.

Lake Manyara – Serengeti National Park

It worth to wake up early at 06:30 for beautiful sunrise watch over The Great East African Rift Valley. There is no harry on this day as you will be leaving the lodge at around 09:00 hours. The driving to Serengeti will be along beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu town & many village all the way to Ngorongoro Gate. After registration you will drive up to Ngorongoro Crater view point for some nice picture of the Crater floor from the rim.

Then you will drive down to the world rich Serengeti National Park with its endless rolling plain. You will reach Nabi Hills gate in the afternoon, you can have your packed lunch here or at the Kopjes (Rocky outcropping) before heading to central Serengeti area known as Seronera. En-route & afternoon game drive searching for big cats & The Great Wildebeest Migration (Depending on traveling dates). However, Serengeti still worth a visit with or without The Great Wildebeest Migration. You may also expect herd’s buffalo, giraffe, warthog, topi, eland, hippos, African elephant & others.

Late afternoon during sunset drive to Serengeti Serena Lodge in Central Serengeti for dinner & overnight.

Day 3.

Game Drive in Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

On this day as early as 06:30 am we take you for sunrise game drive in the vast Serengeti plains with possibility of spot cat families on the road as they try to avoid morning mist. You may also see some nocturnal predators coming back from their long night of hunting others eating along the road or a group of lioness organizing a morning ambush. After you with break for breakfast somewhere in the bush before following the Great  Migration (depending on the traveling dates) and spend much time with them while watching some animal actions like hunting, eating, fighting even killing.

If they are not in Serengeti we still have resident wildebeest of more than 10 thousands & the driving along the richest area of seronera River is the best with or without the migration herds. You can expect to spot predators around The Great Migration & along seronera River like lion, hyenas, jackals & the ever- elusive leopard which sometimes need sharp eyes to spot. In the afternoon start your en-route game drive toward Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge for sunset watch over the Crater rim then dinner & overnight.

Day 4.

Full Day Ngorongoro Crater Tour – Back to Arusha

On this day as early as you wish descent over 600 meters high walls into the Crater floor for a wonderful game drive. Ngorongoro Crater was formed some 3 million years ago due to some internal forces under the earth crust, today the crater is home to many animal species  which include the rare black rhino, African elephant, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, eland, hippos, Impalas, warthog & many more.

Another big draw card to this unique Crater is the dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs & the ever- elusive leopard, which sometimes need sharp eye to spot. You will drive to Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline Lake in the southwestern corner, occasionally visited by flamingos, hippos & many aquatic birds. In the afternoon start your way back to Arusha & drop off at your hotel/ lodge.
